Welcome to TAAP
The Texas Association of Addiction Professionals (TAAP) is the state affiliate of NAADAC, The National Association for Addiction Professionals. TAAP seeks to promote the advancement of Addiction Professionals by uniting addiction counseling professionals throughout Texas. United we have voice in critical matters relating to our profession, as well as those we serve. By means of legislative initiatives, promotional campaigns and professional networking opportunities, TAAP promotes awareness of chemical dependency issues in Texas. TAAP advocates for standards for licensure and certification of qualified counselors to ensure the competency basis of those who provide chemical dependency counseling.

Re-Cap of Big Texas Rally for Recovery, October 1st, Austin Texas
Recovery Coast to Coast radio show host Neil Scott fired up the crowd of nearly 400 people who assembled at the steps of the Texas Capitol to acknowledge, celebrate and advocate for recovery. It was a beautiful, sunny day to hold the Big Texas Rally for Recovery. People came from around the state to participate. While there were counselors and other treatment and prevention specialists in attendance, there were many more individuals representing the personal recovery movement. TAAP Board Members Attend the Grand Opening of the John Austin Peña Primary Care & Substance Abuse Treatment Facility

Matt Feehery, TAAP President, and other TAAP board members attended the Grand Opening Ceremony of the John Austin Peña Primary Care & Substance Abuse Treatment Facility in Edinburg, Texas on October 4th. State Representative Aaron Peña attended the opening ceremony for the facility which is named after his late son, John Austin Peña. Amarillo Chapter of TAAP Health Fair
The Amarillo chapter of TAAP, Amarillo Association of Addiction Professionals, hosted their First Annual Addiction and Recovery Health Fair on September 24, 2011 at the Pavillion in Amarillo, Texas. The event featured exhibits from local providers, networking opportunities and even face painting! A great time was had by all and Amarillo chapter is looking forward to holding the fair again in future years. You can view photos from the event here.
